Citing Pop Culture Sources

The Purdue OWL MLA Style Guide has instructions for formatting citations for a wide variety of sources, including films, television shows, and music.

Reference Books

Use reference books to find background information and get an overview of your topic. 

These books aren't available to check out, but you can use them in the library as much as you'd like! Just jot down the title and call number to find the book on the shelf. These books will be found on the 1st floor of the library. 

Finding Articles on Pop Culture

Database Search Tips

1. Use keywords instead of questions.

2. Use AND to search separate concepts. Use OR to search synonyms.

3. Use an asterisk (*) to search multiple forms of a word. (e.g. [read*] returns results for read + readers + reading)

4. Don't forget to check the "full-text" box!
