Hello Everyone!

Hello,

My name is Justin Torres and I am one of the new Fall 2020 remote interns. My goal with this internship is to assist students with their academic goals and support them in becoming more comfortable with remote learning resources/ tools. Ideally, a long term goal of mine is to work in an academic library setting where I will have the opportunity to continue supporting and assisting students with their academic goals.

Currently, I am in my second year of my MILS program at San Jose State University. The courses I have taken are geared towards the academic librarianship pathway. For my undergraduate, I attended Cal Poly Pomona and received my B.A. in history. Before Cal Poly Pomona, I attended ELAC for two years. I am excited to be interning at a setting where I have personally learned a lot and have met many individuals who have help me during my academic journey.

Outside of the internship and my program, I work at the Autry Museum of the American West, and volunteer at Heritage Square Museum as a docent. I enjoy running, hiking, and other outdoor activities. I look forward to hearing and learning from you all!

Thank you,

Justin Torres
