About i3

Overview & Purpose

  • The i3 initiative is part of the California Community College Chancellor’s Office’s Workforce and Economic Development Division (WEDD).
  • It aims to develop entrepreneurial mindsets through practical, hands-on learning and 21st century skill building for CCC’s students.
  • Through inclusive, student-centered learning experiences, students of all backgrounds can gain confidence in their skills and knowledge that will serve them in work and life.    
  • To develop new community leaders through our higher education institutions with the skills and entrepreneurial mindset to confidently approach the challenges of today and tomorrow. 

Approach

  • The i3 initiative encourages teams of students to connect with each other and to explore, clarify and scope challenges facing their community and to work together to address one through innovative solutions. This is Invention Education.
  • This creative, multi and interdisciplinary problem-solving approach to learning has proven to help students develop interest, skills and capabilities that will serve them in the 21st century economy and ever-changing world around them.
