Spring 2025 Library Updates

Library Hours

Helen Miller Bailey Library (Bldg. F3)

• Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM 
• Closed: Saturdays, Sundays, Campus Holidays, and Instructional Breaks.
• Southeast Campus Library closed during construction.

New Resources

• Sign up for your free personal digital subscriptions to The Atlantic, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and The New York Times. 
• Online Textbook Collection: Access select library eBooks assigned as course textbooks. Share the link with your students.
  • New titles added regularly. 
  • Some eBooks allow unlimited simultaneous use, while others are limited to 1 and 3-concurrent users. 
  • Students can save and/or print a limited number of chapters for most library eBooks.
  • Submit a recommendation for an eBook version of your textbook. Purchase decisions depend on price and vendor availability.

• Laptop loans, low-cost printing, and study rooms (students only)
• Research guides, research tutorials, and research assistance
• Textbook Reserves: Place your course textbook on reserve for your students.
• Recommend a library resource (print books, eBooks, databases, etc.).

Library Instruction Options

• Workshops: Assign students to complete one or more 24/7 asynchronous Library Workshops.
• Research Sessions: Request in-person or online library instruction for your classes.
• Canvas Modules: Import Canvas research modules into your Canvas shell.

Databases & Streaming Videos

• New Library Databases: Asian Life in America, Credo Reference, Digital Theatre+, Issues & Controversies, Sage Journals, and Westlaw Campus Research.
• Streaming Video Collections: Log in with your LACCD Portal credentials to request Kanopy and Swank films directly in the platforms. For more info, visit our Streaming Video Guide.​​​​​​
• eBook Collections: Explore over 600,000+ titles available in our multiple eBook collections.
• Off-Campus Database Access: login with your LACCD Portal account.
