Supporting, Celebrating, and Sustaining our Native American and Indigenous Communities
Join us as we celebrate Native American Heritage Month. This town hall will raise awareness of the Native American and Indigenous communities' intersecting identities, histories, lives, and current social issues. Learn how through music and artistry, we can celebrate, heal, and educate others about Native and Indigenous cultures and begin closing equity gaps.
Dr. Kyle Whyte, Professor of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan and Member of the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council, will address the importance of Indigenous knowledge in climate, environmental, and sustainability sciences. The purpose is to raise awareness of the Native American and indigenous community's intersecting identities, histories, lives, and shed light on current environmental justice and social issues. Please join us to learn more about climate knowledge and strategies that indigenous communities are exploring. The panel discussion will be moderated by CBS2/KCAL9 news reporter and anchor, Lesley Marin.
